If I would be in that similar situation I would not really care about it but if it didn’t took too much of my time, I would have included all of these in the disavow file too.

But if the page is not giving a 200 status, this shouldn’t really be a problem.

I agree with Dan, I believe you should not move from your own domain to a free website server. Here are my reasons for it.

-          Design and Development Limitation

HTML code might be difficult but it will give you independence of doing anything on the website whereas with a free website builder, the design and development part might be easy for you but overall design and development restriction will bleed you out.

-          Brand Value

If you have a business website, then it’s a big no, no and this is because it will kill your branding. The first thing people normally see is a own domain name if you are going to kill your own domain name and move to a free website, your business on the internet will be much less valuable.

-          Search Visibility

I have not seen much websites (under any niche) that are on free website builder and ranking well on Google search results for money making keywords and this is because it’s useless to invest time and money on a free website as its out of your control.

I believe the better option here is to invest some money and move to customized WP solution as this will help you stay away from codes and all and you still will have design and development independence with your own domain name

Ok, here is my understanding regarding canonicals and how it works with redirect. 301 redirect means the old URL is shifting its all value and user to the new domain (unlike 302 that only derives traffic but contain the URL value to itself only).

Whereas Canonicals indicates Google the preferred version of the domain so theoretically if you use the canonicals on every page Google should pick the redirected page as 301 will take Google to the final destination anyways…

What will I do?

If Possible, I will map all the redirected URLs and remove canonicals from there just to be on the safe side but I don’t think having there will be much of a difference as Google as at least that smart.

Title tag is great way to catches users attention and including free shipping can be an added point to cater user attention and increase the CTR volume but I believe title tag also have a much SEO value to you have to use it wisely and play it around to a place where you can incorporate branding as well as SEO keywords.

If it is not possible to add website USP in the title but you can include brand name and product titles then I would prefer to go it that way but remember in my experience Meta description also help people increase a click through rate to a greater extent so product testimonials, special features and your business USP can be used in Meta description tag to increase the CTR and conversion rate.

Hammad if is normal for the traffic to drop when you made any significant change on the bog and changing the entire theme can be one of them. I have worked with different clients and in my understanding the drop can be controlled to minimum if you have a shift plan, time and you should have a clear idea that the theme you are uploading didn’t have any problem.

I believe you should be ready for it if you are changing the theme all you need is a perfect planning to make that traffic drop to minimum.

I probably have to go with the Ady’s idea on Google Alters! This is exactly how I think Google Alters works!!

I believe this depends from case to case. On my own blog I have disabled tags but not categories and this is because I believe few category URL are very much user friendly.

Before you actually implement anything, ask yourself if this will hurt user experience or not and If the answer is no then just go ahead and do that!
