Should I interlink all the websites my company owns?
-
Our company has several websites where visitors can request quotes for home improvement. I'm thinking of making each site deeplink to each of our other sites, to create more linking domains and make all our sites help each other.
Is this a good idea? Or will Google recognize that i'm only promoting our own websites and see this as a bad thing?
-
Thanks for the advice, all of you. Will start interlinking and secretly build the company's death star, to be unleashed on the public at a later time.
-
Thanks! The big kickass site is in the planning, but will take some time.
It's going to be potato guns for now, while we're building our battleship.

Zsolt makes some good points
It not a problem, it’s a natural thing to do.
As far as PageRank goes if you link to every website from every website it will have neutral effect over all, but your worse ranking sites will get a boost at the expense of the higher ranking sites. You can alter your links to benifit a site you want to give a boostBut since there is value in link text relevance, you should come out on top all over
Having said that it’s better to link in a way that looks natural to your users.I would not have these as my only links if they are on the same ip number, but as long as you have a good range of links from other places it is ok to have links from the same ip number. i think people get a bit excited about same IP or same C-class.
-
And that is even a better advice than mine.
-
will Google recognize that i'm only promoting our own websites and see this as a bad thing?
Google is really smart and knows that people have been manufacturing links this way for a long time.
In my opinion, a better idea would be to merge all of these little websites into one big kickass site.
You can do more damage to the competitor with one battleship than you can with ten potato guns.
Also... one big kickass site with tons of information and resources usually impresses the visitor more than a hotdog stand with a lot of links to similar websites.
-
If I get it right sites are based on the same topic, so interlinking them carries both user and search engine value (maybe a little bit less for engines than for users as google maybe knows that you own both sites so it gives less value to the links). When you do your linking just keep in mind what pages would you like to rank with and hw pagerank flows so do your job based on that http://perthseocompany.com.au/seo/tutorials/a-simple-explanation-of-pagerank (thanks ALan). Good luck!

Other websites copy content and giving a link back
Hi, I've just noticed a few back links in Google Search Console, I was excited. But when I saw the backlinks, 2 other websites that had completely copied my content and then gave a backlink to my website. Is this bad for SEO and would google penalise my website for this?

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
Hi,
Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -

In desktop the website have been stuck in 11th position for quite some time now, any suggestion will help.

I want to find all the outbound links (basically whatever comes in tag) from a domain (say www.abc.com) as well as all the subdomains under it (say abc.com/a etc). Open Site Explorer provides the inbound links from a website but does not provide any functionality to get all the outbound links from a website. Is it possible to do? Thanks in advance. Is it ok for a web design company to have a branded footer link on their client's sites?
Now I know that in general footer links to your site from another site are bad...this is because they are very often spammy...however I like to think that Google is pretty smart and I am of the opinion that a web design company should be able to link back to their own site. Here's why: If a visitor comes across a site that they love the design of, and they want a new website built...why shouldn't they be able to click through to the web designers site? (as long as the client is happy to link to it of course) I also feel that if there are a whole bunch of high authority/pagerank websites have been designed by a web design company and they therefore have a footer link pointing to them, it's probably a pretty good sign that they're a good web designer. Is it not? In saying this I think that the link anchor text should be branded rather than keywords. For example I usually write "Web Design by Static Shift" I'm interested to hear people's thoughts. Am I being blinded by my bias? Thoughts aside, and onto the facts...what are people's experiences with footer links for a web design company. Do they help or hinder?
