How do I merge a google+ and a youtube account?
-
Before Google merged Google+ and Youtube, we had opened a Google+ account for our business from one email account and a separate account on youtube from a separate account. Now that Google merged the two channels, it created a new G+ page for our youtube account. but I want to merge the youtube account with our formal Google+ page.
How do I go about doing that
Thank you
Joni

Hopefully the situation is already resolved, but having recently had to do this for both clients and my own projects...
First, make sure that the email address used for your Youtube account is added as a manager to the G+ page you want to be linked in the future. You then need to go into Youtube settings and click on the option to DIsconnect from Google+.
This will remove the link to the unwanted page - it takes about 20 minutes plus for the change to take effect across Google+ and Youtube.
You can then go to Advanced under the Name section of the Youtube Settings and click to link your desired Google+ page.
I'd recommend checking everything is all working, then finally go back into Google+ with your original Youtube email address and delete the now extraneous and unwanted page.

Thank you everyone for your input. Unfortunately, the situation is not resolved yet. I will update if there is any change or if I figure out a way to do this.

Hi Joni,
Thanks for the update. It looks like you can do this. Unfortunately, the catch is that you have to take action within 14 days of linking your YouTube account to Google+ (see https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/3056283?hl=en&ref_topic=3097177). As you said, Google+ is constantly making changes, and you are certainly not the only person out there with this problem. In the meantime, I would contact Google about your situation via the form on this page - https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/ytgplus. Make sure to use the email address associated with your YouTube account, and please keep us posted. Best of luck!
-
So far, no. It seems like the only option is transferring all the movies to the new account, but I would lose all our engagement if I were to do that. I'm debating whether to just wait and see if Google will have another update.
-
Hi Joni, did that work for you? We'd love a status update. Thanks!

Hey Anthony, Joni,
I'm interested to see how this works in this case. Joni, please let us know...
-
Hi Joni-
This is indeed possible, although it is a bit of a struggle to accomplish. Look at my answer on this similar question to get started and then follow up here with additional issues if you are having problems.
-
Joni,
I don't think you can do what you want to do. As Google says, "In most cases, it's not possible to move products from one Google Account to another." But you can check here for the extenuating circumstances on some products.

Is there a Facebook Ad equivalent to Google MCC?
Hi Mozzers, Really unsure if we are missing something here, but whilst trying to set-up paid ads for some of our clients on FB we have run into a significant issue. We need to be able to allow FB to debit multiple business accounts for varying ads on different pages. However every time we try to access the ads manager to set-up a new ad, FB takes us to the individuals (the person logged in to the page) account, rather than creating an ad account for that page/business individually. What are we missing? We use Google MCC for managing our PPC campaigns and so wondered if there is anything similar we can use for FB? Or any other recommendations on how to get round this without dragging each client into the office and asking them to log-in so that we can set these up? Thanks!

Yoast Social Accounts URL Section
Hi When you click: Social within Yoast plugin it defaults to 'Account' tab and displays a list of fields to enter your social media account urls. Sentence above list says: "To inform Google about your social profiles, we need to know their URLs. For each, pick the main account associated with this site and please enter them below" What does that mean exactly and does it effect links on the site etc or literally is just Yoast telling G ? Also if you have sub sites for different language versions (WP on Multi User setup), which in turn have their own language specific social media account versions , should you enter those urls in the sub site language version own Yoast plugin fields OR , as per "...pick the main account associated with this site and please enter them below" use the primary social account and not the language specific social account or just leave them blank ? Many Thanks Dan

We have a managed server company http://www.centerserv.com in 3 languages. The 3 languages are international and not country specific. Should we open 3 different social media account/page for each languages (facebook, twitter, pinterest, linkedin, google+,tumblr)?

Shortcut Link and Referral domain in Google Analytics
Hello, One of my clients has a Facebook page for his company, and his social media manager posts some promotional and educational posts on daily basis. the social media manager uses affiliate ID's in the destination URL to track traffic and leads that come from the social media and to make it look nicer he uses shortcut links service - bitly. Now I have a few questions about this: I don't see traffic comes from bit.ly or bitly.com in Google Analytics, my question: is using 301 redirect makes Google Analytics understand that the last website which sent the traffic to my website is not the actual Referral website? Is using shortcut links in the social media damages the links value (even though they are <nofollow>links - but still considered as signals from social media</nofollow> Thanks. LorS1nd.jpg

Youtube SEO: Does your channel name / user name matter?
My predecessor left me a gift of what is arguably the worst kind of Youtube channel name: Our company's name condensed to an acronym with some additional gibberish that may or may not have meant something to her. In short: Our channel name will never be searched for, will never provide any ranking boost. Now our Youtube success has been very marginal so far: 31 subscribers, 7,300 video views. Given that situation, should I seriously consider scrapping my channel and starting something new with a keyword targeted channel name? Or does channel name matter so little that I should hold on to my 7300 video views?
